The Inspiration for Puttin On The Pink

Hi, I'm Sher Thrush, the Founder of Puttin On The Pink. In my world, too many family and friends have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Back in the 1980s, treatments were difficult and often unsuccessful. Witnessing the physical, mental, financial, and emotional struggles these patients endured led to the creation of Puttin On The Pink.

Puttin On The Pink started as a concept aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer. Our goal was to help people understand how a person's entire life changes after a diagnosis and to encourage genuine compassion and support for those undergoing treatment.

When we began nine years ago, it wasn't about the money raised. It was about being informed, compassionate, and supportive. Today, we continue to uphold these values and are fortunate to raise funds as a 501(c)(3) organization to help cover treatment costs.

Puttin On The Pink is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Polk County dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer patients. We hold an annual event on the second Friday in October, where 95% of our proceeds go to The Hollis Cancer Center Breast Cancer Patients in Lakeland, Florida. We are committed to supporting breast cancer patients and their families, and to finding a cure for this disease.

Puttin On The Pink is committed to raising awareness and fostering compassion for breast cancer patients. Our mission is to provide both emotional and financial support, helping to alleviate the stress that comes with their treatment journey. Through our efforts, we aim to ensure that every breast cancer patient feels supported and understood during their battle with this disease.
