Puttin On The Pink began in 2014 with the simple yet powerful mission of raising awareness about breast cancer and the challenges faced by those affected by the disease. By 2023, our commitment to this cause led us to become a 501(c)(3) organization, enabling us to amplify our fundraising efforts.
Our event started modestly, focused on awareness rather than fundraising. Thanks to the unwavering support from our community, Puttin On The Pink has grown significantly. To date, we have raised and donated over $78,000 to support breast cancer patients at The Hollis Cancer Center.
Our guiding principles have always been to keep our efforts local and ensure that funds directly benefit breast cancer patients. After visiting numerous facilities, we chose The Hollis Cancer Center for its exceptional care and commitment to patients.
At Puttin On The Pink, we celebrate survivors, support those undergoing treatment, and honor the memory of those we've lost to this disease. Our event offers something for everyone. Throughout October, we are active in the community, raising awareness and hosting pop-up fundraisers. We are also grateful for the support of local vendors who organize special fundraisers for us during the month.
Traditionally held on the second Friday of October, our event is renowned for two highlights: the Prime Rib Dinner and our famous “Fashion Show” by the Brotherhood of Pinkness. Initially, it was a challenge to get participants, but now, it's a highly anticipated part of the evening, with many eager to join.
Our success is driven by the love and dedication of countless volunteers who solicit donations and organize silent auctions and basket raffles. We are honored for you to attend our event that is on the second Friday of October every year.
